Make $20,000 A Year Working 5 Hours A Week

How it works?

You go to library book sales, thrift stores, garage sales, Facebook marketplace, find books online or wherever it may be where there are books. I’ve found the most success at library book sales. However, these places also tend to be the most competitive. Go to booksalefinder.com to find book sales in your area.

Once you’re at the sale you connect your Bluetooth scanner, open the ScoutIQ scanning app and start scanning barcodes on books. Buy what’s profitable and don’t buy what’s not profitable. You’ll need something to carry your books home. I will link some products below.

You don’t have to limit yourself to books. You can include movies, music….or anything that’s sold on Amazon. I have found that books are the easiest way to begin while at the same time having a low capital requirement.

Alternatively, you can merchant fulfill your books. This is another topic within selling on Amazon. If there’s enough interest I will write up a doc and do some videos on how this works.

How much can I make?

You can make no money or you can make thousands. The most I’ve sold in a year is $90k-$95k doing this part time. Not all of it was profit, maybe $40-45k was profit. However, that’s peanuts compared to how much some people sell. If I had more time I would grow it into a 6 figure a year business and hire out someone to process the inventory. I can help you scale the business if you’d like, just shoot me a message. No charge, I’m happy to help.

What books should I scan?

You should stick to non-fiction books. If you source your inventory through a library book sale, this business is very much dependent on finding books quickly, so you should not waste your time scanning fiction books.  You might find some gems in fiction, but you will have a significantly lower success rate than if you just stuck to non-fiction. Even then, there are categories within non-fiction that are better than others.

What do I need to get started?

  • Smartphone
  • A computer

Why am I sharing this?

I’m a very busy person these days and no longer have time to make it work at a scale that makes sense. I have included affiliate links to the products I recommend, you don’t have to use them but I would appreciate it you did. Regardless, I think it’s good to help others and share information.
